Katz appointed associate judge in St. Clair County

Belleville attorney Julie K. Katz has been appointed associate judge in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit after having received a majority of votes cast by circuit judges.
Her firm, Cannady & Katz, concentrates on personal injury, workers' compensation, family law, criminal defense, probate and real estate.
She fills the associate judge position held by Michael Cook, who was elected circuit judge Nov. 2.
Katz received her undergraduate degree in 1981 from the University of Illinois in Urbana and her juris doctor in 1984 from the University of Illinois in Urbana.
