A single mother claims her former boyfriend of three months refuses to reimburse her $14,000 she loaned him through cash advances on her credit card.

Jeri Rath filed a lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Vincent J. Corpus.

Rath claims Corpus promised to pay Rath back within a few weeks if she allowed him to borrow $14,000.

"In order to procure this amount of money Plaintiff took cash advances on her credit cards for the loans," the suit states.

However, Rath's and Corpus' relationship has since ended, and he has still failed to repay the loan, according to the complaint.

In addition to the money Rath says Corpus owes her, Rath seeks more than $150,000 but less than $225,000 in punitive damages, plus other relief the court deems just.

D. Todd Matthews of The Matthews Law Firm in St. Louis will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-610.
