Prenzler to run for Treasurer in 2010

Republican Kurt Prenzler will formally announce his intention to run for Madison County Treasurer in 2010 at a press conference Friday.
Prenzler sought the treasurer's seat in 2006, but was defeated by incumbent Fred Bathon, a Democrat. Bathon, who has served as treasurer since 1998, announced last week that he would not seek re-election.
The Madison County Democrat Central Committee has endorsed Frank Miles to succeed Bathon.
Prenzler will make his announcement at 11 a.m. on the steps between the Madison County Courthouse and Administration Building.
