Jury selection under way in medical malpractice case

A medical malpractice trial against Greenville surgeon, Dr. Jose A. Diaz, Jr. is getting under way in Madison County Circuit Judge Barbara Crowder's court.
Jury selection is in progess. The trial is set to resume at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Diaz is being sued by Russell Darbon on behalf of Virginia Getts for negligence. The suit was originally filed in 2004.
Darbon is represented by Jon G. Carlson of Carlson and Carlson in Edwardsville. Diaz Jr. is represented by Timothy S. Richards of Neville, Richards, & Wuller.
The case is Madison County case number 04-L-1427.
