American Express sues for unpaid credit card balance

American Express Centurion Bank has filed suit against a Belleville resident, alleging he failed to pay the balance due on his credit card.

Represented by Markoff and Kransy of Chicago, American Express Centurion Bank claims Paul Bussett agreed to pay all amounts charged to his credit card but has failed and refused to make payments set forth in his statements.

"American Express Centruion Bank is entitled to judgment against Defendant in the sum of $56,912.88," the complaint filed Nov. 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court states.

In addition to the balance due, American Express Centurian Bank is seeking attorney fees, prejudgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
