Belleville Orthopedics and surgeon named in med mal complaint

Donald Weimer, M.D. and Belleville Orthopedics have been named in a medical malpractice complaint by a woman who claims a surgical procedure on her right shoulder was negligently performed.
According to a complaint filed May 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Angela Shaw claims she sustained increased aggravated and exacerbated permanent injuries, disability and pain and suffering while under Weimer's care.
Represented by Jack A. Strellis of Strellis & Field in Waterloo, Shaw is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages plus costs of the suit.
Shaw, who was under Weimer's care on May 12, 2006 and on various other dates through July 30, 2007, claims lost wages and medical expenses.
