Cash flow heavy in final days of Supreme Court race

The state supreme court race that shattered a national campaign contribution record was infused with even more cash in the final days of the campaign.

On Election Day more than $740,000 was donated to Illinois Supreme Court candidate Gordon E. Maag, primarily from the Justice for All political action committee which gave more than $637,000.

The East Alton law firm SimmonsCooper donate $22,000 and the Democratic Party of Illinois gave another $81,000 to Maag.

Republican candidate Lloyd Karmeier's campaign reported receiving more than $66,000 on Nov. 1. Major donors included the Illinois Republican Party and the Illinois Chamber PAC.
